What I Bring to the table

If you landed on this page, it means that you are willing to learn more about how I can be of an asset to your team, even though I don’t have years and years of experience in the UX/UI Design industry specifically.

I will be perfect for your company, if you are looking for someone with these soft skills and traits:

Excellent Social, Communication, and Storytelling Skills. For me as a professional photographer, a big part of creating a successful brand in the local market was connecting with people and telling their stories in such ways that their unique personalities are depicted in a photograph. As a former foreign language teacher, I could present complex concepts in engaging and interactive ways that students could easily understand.

Eye for Detail.  I can find something unique and beautiful in the most ordinary scenes. It’s all about composition, framing, light, adding perspective to direct the viewer to the main subject and telling the story. This skill would be especially helpful when designing user interfaces.

Creativity and Imaginative Thinking. As a teacher, I would always experiment with different techniques to engage and amuse students. As a photographer, I always know first what image I want to take and only then translate my imagination and ideas to digital photographs by proper planning, analyzing, adjusting, and executing.

Critical Thinking. When preparing how to deliver course materials to the students, I always looked for best ways to keeps students engaged, taking into consideration their age, interests, and goals. When working with my photography clients, I analyzed the information I had discovered about them through interviews, surveys, and by observing their body language, etc, and translated the insights into actionable guidelines during the session.

Ability to adapt. As a wedding photographer, I have many stories of how the events didn’t go as planned and how I had to think fast on my feet to adapt to the changed circumstances and deliver the service seamlessly.

Team Work. As an educator, I enjoyed being a part of a team and collaborate on creating curriculum and classroom practices. The activity I enjoyed most was brainstorming sessions where all teachers and administrative workers were bringing different perspectives and ideas on how to improve the learning experience for the students.

Growth Mindset and Passion to Learn and Improve. I am truly passionate about photography and telling people’s stories through my craft, and this passion and desire to grow as an artist pushed me to continuously explore new techniques, experiment with editing styles, and seek for constructive criticism from my mentors and clients so that I could improve my art and succeed as a business. I believe that it is the passion that makes the professional, be it a UX Designer, or Photographer, or Teacher, great at what they do.
